Hi everyone. I am looking for a job:) I am currently covering for a Recreation
Therapist on a Skilled Nursing Unit as she is on an extended maternity leave. She will be
returning the first week of January at which time I will be unemployed. My experience is
with the geriatric population in rehab and subacute care settings. I would like to stay in
Florida. I graduated from FSU in August of 1996 and I am awaiting the results of my
Certification exam which I took in November. I f anyone has any information, please let me

I was an activity director in nursing homes for 7 years and then a nursing home
administrator for another 6years. I recently had to retire on disability but still try to
keep my finger in the pie. I publish newsletters for facilities and write activity idea
packets but don't know the most efficient means to advertise on a "s.s. income".

Our facility is a physical rehabilitation center specializing in the largest brain
injury program in the state of Missouri. We are currently seeking interns for the 1997
Summer and Fall internships. We also have a general rehab units, behavior unit,
transitional living, substance abuse, TB, and ventilator units which all receive our
services. We offer free room and board, and a really neat and highly repected program. Mt.

Hi. I'm 24, been out of school one year, and am discovering there is a connection
between not having a job and having no money! (Go figure.) I am a CTRS, have worked in
geriatric settings, psych settings, and summer camps for those with disabilities. I am

Hello out there!! It's great to finally find this place! I am a student at La Crosse
and am loving my studies in TR. I am interested in a variety of populations, working with
geriatrics, youth, individuals with mental retardation and individuals with physical
disabilities. I will be completing my internship next fall and would like to hear about
your internship experiences. Do any of you know the average starting salary in our field?
What are some new techniques, theories, equipment you have heard about? What do you think
about the new NTRS philosophy? If anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer. If
any one is interested in the University of La Crosse or the La Crosse area I would love to
help you gain information. Good luck out there for all of those in school and trying to
find jobs. Remember to have fun and make time for your own leisure!

Hi there, EH This is my first contact with the T.R. dir. I see you don't receive many
new guest from Canada I guess many of us arer busy shovelin' snow! I have recently
graduated from a post grad T.R. diploma at Geogian with a B.A. in Applied Lingusitics. I
have acces to this computer (hence the strange email name) for the next 2 weeks or so and
thought it would be a great opportunity to chat with T.R. professionals and students to
the South of me. Orillia is about an hour and a bit north of Toronto in Ontario and yes we

work in the Department of Experiential Therapy with 10 other CTRS's. My interests in RT
are: adventure therapy, ropes courses, wilderness therapy, and anything related with the

Hi there! I am currently a senior attending Humboldt State University in on the
Northern Coast of California. I am majoring in recreation administration with an emphasis

This is a great web page. I'm really glad I found it. I've recently graduated from UNH
with my BS in TR. Currently I'm working at the UNH Institute on Disability. I'm sitting
for the National exam in Nov. and I'm nervous. Does anyone have any words of wisdom. After
